On & Off Road Driving Safari
Get to know the fascinating geophysical terrain of Southern Crete with a Land Rover Defender or a Toyota Landcruiser and the help of experienced drivers/guides who will organize an unforgettable all-day driving safari. On the route from the roots of Psiloritis to the exotic beach of Tripiti, you will cross the fertile valley of Messara, admire the picturesque scenery of Lake Zaros, visit traditional villages and settlements and taste local wines and local cheese in the vineyards, wineries and cheese dairies of the region.
And when you go off-road, you’ll enter the elusive world of wild Cretan Nature. There you will find steep, narrow gorges, majestic waterfalls, ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine monuments and virgin olive groves leading to the sea.
Bike & Hike
Within a short distance from st TEN there are trails and hiking routes of various levels of difficulty that will satisfy both the amateur nature explorer and the experienced hiker. Tour the Rouvas Gorge, the most important gorge of Psiloritis and get to know the Rouvas Forest, a unique preforest of bushy formations that have evolved into huge trees. These slopes are home tothe extremely rare Cretan wildcat.
Inextricably linked to the ecosystem of the area is the artificial lake of Zarou, a wetland of incomparable beauty, ideal for walks, family picnics and relaxation in the shade and coolness offered by the plane trees.
For an alternative, closer ride, st TEN has bicycles for hire for its guests (adults and children) who wish to spend a day of relaxation and exploration in the welcoming village of Agioi Deka.
